Default German Castrol Syntec 0w-30, Experiences?

Amongst my American car friends, they swear by this stuff. It's a European blend, and specifically made in Germany.

I know they recommend 5w-30 for the Si, but I have read others using 0w-30 with no consequences.

Anybody ever used this stuff in their Si and have experience with it?

wtf is the green **** in the cup that oil??
Dam if so that looks freakin scary. i wouldn't want that crap in my engine. looks like coolant.

But i also heard its a pretty good over all oil. If you can get it cheaper then M1 or Pennzoil Platinum then get it if not i wouldn't run it.

The flash gives it a heavy green tint. In reality, it's only a slight green tint.

There's also another kind that is a darker gold color.

I've used it in my J35 before. Produced GREAT oil analysis results. Not to say other oils won't, but this oil is REALLY REALLY good. It seems to have a following over at bobistheoilguy.com

I'm pretty sure its the factory fill in some porsches.

This oil is usually hard to find too. Its the only castrol synthetic that is actually FULL PAO synthetic if I remember correctly too.

I've used the newer gold-colored version in my old boosted d16. Worked great. That stuff's getting harder and harder to find nowadays.

That Castrol is super expensive. I know my brother used it in his E46 M3. And it always cost him close to 80.00 for an oil change

I bought it for $6.29/quart yesterday at Autozone.

I did go ahead and decide to give this oil a try. If it seems like it doesn't burn off and the engine is fine with it, I'll stick with it.

ive been using castrol syntec 0w-30 for over 5 years in my b16a civic. my current oil change includes three track days, two at laguna seca and one at streets of willow. i only used 3/4 qt. of top-off oil. dont think that 0-30 syntec oil is too thin b/c its pretty close to being a 40wt. at operating temp. btw, its not green anymore but still the same stuff.
