A = "Change just engine oil"
1 = "Rotate tires, and check tire pressure and condition"

Damn! ya'll must drive pretty hard. My wife's '09 Accord has 5400 miles and oil life just went to 50%. This is why I am on here as a matter of fact. The oil will be changed in a day or so but I am debating whether or not to do it myself. I plan on keeping the car for a long time. The only reason I would take it to the dealer would be for the records. If I do it, I would keep my own records and receipts. I have some friends that are mechanics at dealers and have heard some stories....needless to say if you don't trust a car salesman why trust the mechanics??

I would check your level at 3000. Si engines eat alot of oil in the beginning miles.

Its brand engine, dont be a cake , your Si can take it to 6000k depending on your driving habits. but like others on here have said . check your level.

Well...took it to the Honda dealer. Got a oil/filter change w/ Mobil 1 for $17.51!!! First oil change is free(for regular oil). I asked if I could pay the difference and they said it would be $35ish. Then they charged me the difference of the reg. Honda oil and the Honda syn. Not a bad deal!. I also had them note on the bill that the oil life was still at 50%(for future sales pitch)

.. Change that **** now... I dropped my oil with in the first 1000 to 1500 miles of gettin my car.. And i do oil changes every 2000 to 2500 evrytime now.. I never wait till that percentage goes all the way down and i dont listen to the dealer when they tell u to do it every 5ooo or so.
