Default 2006 civic 30k maintenance

hi guys,

first time poster long time reader...

anyways. just called the dealership about 30k maintenance and all they said was bring it in on thu and its $380. ok...

lol

i was like no not ok, can you tell me what it involves.

theyre reply was. oil+filter, tranny fluid, air filter, and a tuneup..

anything else i should do? for nearly $400 bucks im not gonna pay them to do that. im an autobody tech and my roommate is a lead tech at a bmw dealership so anything i cant handle he can definately take care of..

and on a side note.. blinker is out on my LF.. look like the bumper has to come off wich is no problem.. anyone get that switched out without taking it off? just saving time... wich is hard to find...

well in regards to the light being out, you dont need to take the bumper off. Just pull back the fenderwell lining and reach in through there. Voila!

Seems a little high for a 30K maintenance.

I called the dealer a while back about 30K service and they quoted me $240. Most of that was just inspecting a bunch of components.....but of course that's without a tranny fluid change and tune up.

Not to mention the tranny fluid isn't due until 60K (although changing it at 30K certainly doesn't hurt) and the tune up isn't due until 100K miles.

But if they add those services into the price I can understand why it cost so much.

Here at my Honda it costs $400 for the 30k mile service. It basically is oil and oil filter change, drain and fill trans., rotate and balance wheels, adjust brakes, brake flush, cabin filter replacement, and air filter replacement.

yes.

certain things according to the service schedule need attention in intervals before the 100k, like, the obvious things - air filter, oil/filter, etc, but changing plugs and doing stuff outside of the manufacturer's suggested service intervals is wasting time and money.

can they void any warranty for not doing these services? since they do record whether or not you do these services.

LMFAO
Inspect, inspect, replace drain bolt crusher?

THIS DOESN'T ADD UP TO $40

I don't know about you guys but i probably will never take any car to a dealer unless there is a problem and under warentee.

i had a free inspection of all those stuff in a 24- point inspection coupon that i got.
It said all good and the mechanic didn't look at half of the stuff. He probably just assumed, new car no problems.

I just don't know who to trust. I have 65,000 on mine and its rough here in Arizona so I've already changed trans and coolant. It shakes when it idle's and the a/c on like it is going to die so i wanted to change the plugs. You think that is un necessary?

30K maintenance on the Si is a scam, go get your oil changed, a fuel filter and go to wal*mart and get your tired rotated for $10.

30k mile service on a 06 si

OIL CHANGE if needed
TRANS FLUID CHANGE
ROTATE
CHECK BRAKES
A/C CABIN FILTER
AIR FILTER
CHARGING SYSTEM TEST
CHECK EVERYTHING OVER

SI oil changes suck, oil goes everywhere when you remove the oil filter

x2; oil goes everywhere from that filter. That's why the oem drip pan helps.

30k at my dealer is

Oil+ filter
Cabin filter
Air Filter
Trans drain and flush
Rotate tires
Check charging system
Inspect overall vehicles condition
Set tire pressures.

Send on the way.

26 bucks for a cabin filter??
eff that. i went to home depot
and spent 8 bucks on an a/c filter for a house
then i just cut it accordingly to the tray and made sure it fits tight.
been perfect ever since.
