Water collecting in my trunk. Need help!

Water collecting in my trunk. Need help!
Hi there. I spent yesterday putting dynamat in my trunk. When I took out the carpet and floorboard, quite a bit of water had collected around the spare tire. The rest of my trunk including my subs and carpet are dry, so it's isolated to the bottom section there underneath. I'm assuming it gets collected while driving and the drain is just plugged (a bunch of sand and mud was there too). I'm just curious how I can clean out the drain, or if by chance my sunroof drains are clogged and it's somehow collecting there. Any advice would be great!

Mine doesn't have a sunroof and it also gets full of water around the spare tire when it rains.
Anyone that knows why, please let us know.

- Bad trunk seal
- Gap in body panels.
- Leaking drain tube. (moonroof aka sunroof)
Those are your three most likely culprits.
I had a gap in body panels in two places. One, between the wheel well and quarter panel, would leave grimy water in that area which would spread across the "shelf" of the trunk floor. (NOT in the spare tire well) I cleaned and seal this area from both sides (inside the trunk, inside the wheel well from outside the car) and it hasn't leaked in over six years.
The other place my trunk leaked was beneath the seal itself, and it would fill the spare tire well with clear water. (leaked when I wasn't driving) On the bottom left corner of the trunk opening, I had a gap in the body panels. I cleaned it, sealed and clamped it until the sealant cured. Put the trunk seal back over it and, again, no leak for over six years.
Never had an issue with the drain hoses from the glass roof, though it's worth checking.
