Should my airbag have deployed?

Should my airbag have deployed?
Hello everyone.
I was in accident yesterday. I got hit on the front driver side under the headlight and the passenger side in the same place. I was going about 35-40 mph when this happened. My airbags did not deploy.
Recently, there was a recall on my car about the airbags and I took it to a dealer to have the recall work done. I am concerned that the airbags should have deployed and didn't because of something Honda did.
Btw, its a 2002 Civic EX.
Should they have deployed? Any ideas?

Re: Should my airbag have deployed?
How much damage actually occurred?
I hit a deer at about 40MPH. It broke my headlight, cracked the paint on the bumper, and ever-so-slightly pushed my fender back.
Airbags did not deploy, and there is nothing wrong with my SRS system.
Just sayin' ...

Re: Should my airbag have deployed?
it has to do with g force , there are two sensors that have to trip, the main sensor and the safeing sensor, it's not supposed to deploy unless its needed

Re: Should my airbag have deployed?
it's thousands to replace blown airbags, unless you know how to do it yourself, plus the cost to replace the broken windshield after the passenger side one breaks it

Re: Should my airbag have deployed?
Thanks for responding you guys. I will try to post pictures later today, but the car was totaled. There was significant damage to the body on not front corners and, more importantly, significant damage to the front axles, control arm.,etc.
As far as the g force...I was hit pretty hard. Hard enough I ended up with a concussion from hitting my head on the drivers side window. I can't imagine there weren't enough gs to trigger it. So I guess my real question is would a front corner hit trigger airbags or does it have to be a dead center hit?
Thanks
