Default 2005 Honda Civic DX Clutch engaging issues

Okay this will be hard to expalin as usual but, when the car is cold the clutch engages at the very end of the pedal, as the car warms up ( ESPECIALLY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ) the clutch pedal engages either on the floor ( immediately when you move your foot) or mid range, which makes it a pain to drive. I checked the clutch resevoir and it is down a touch, but still above the Min part.

Now last year it had a minor problem with chattering clutch only in reverse, but it stopped.

looking for opinions of the problem.
I'm thinking pressure plate or possibly slave cylinder, it has original clutch and the car has nearly 200,000KMS on it

Be sure to check the clutch lines to see if you are losing any fluid. And bleeding your clutch line can never hurt for the $5 it costs for break fluid

Slave cylnder would be easiest to inspect and change, compared to the master, or removal of transaxle to inspect or replace clutch.

My clutch does the same thing. I think it's the slave cylinder because before it would make this annoying squeaking noise but now has gone away. I had a bad input shaft bearing which cause fluid to leak all over my clutch so i replaced the clutch and fixed the input shaft bearing. After all the work it seems my clutch is doing similar things you have described. I didnt buy a high end clutch or anything, just an oem replacement. I even power bled the thing to make sure it doesnt have bubbles. Let me know if you find out the problem I'm interested in finding out.

god i hope its not a seal leaking onto the clutch, it seems to be fine right now, which makes me angry, just knowing it will break now anytime. But when it breaks ill let you know the problem(s)

can u try and explain the problem a little better please. end of the pedal? you mean when the pedal is all the way up? it engages or or disengages? can you shift the gears? when cold? and when hot do you mean you have to press the clutch all the way to the floor before it disengages? so u can shift the gears?

End of pedal means farthest away from the floor, disengaged meaning "neutral" engaged means trying to move the car.Gears shift perfectly fine. It's not the disengaging part but trying to start off as I refer to as engage. Clutch only has the problem when it's warmed up.

drive at roughly 50 km/h (no clue what it is in MPH) shift to 5th, and when releasing the clutch, give it gas (like 75% throttle) if the rpms drop to < 1k and engine bogs, clutch is fine. if the rpms stay high or are slow to descend, you need a clutch.

I did that today and at 50kph the engine stayed around 1400-1500 rpm... It didn't rev up or anything just stayed at that level.
