Default 04-05 Civic blacked out headlights

I've seen alot of 2001-03 blacked out headlights on here in the picture thread and even how to do them in the FAQ's. Does anyone have any pics of the blacked out headlights they did for their 04/05 Civics? I haven't seen any on here. (prob just not looking in the right section). I'd like to see them, specifically the parts you blacked out and taped off(amber reflectors, etc.) I want to see how they turn out as I'm thinking about doing them. Heard the glue is a B to get apart though on the housing for the 04/05's, does the oven method work better or hairdryer? I appreciate any pics, help in how to do em. Thanks!

I split mine apart with the hairdryer method. It took about 45 mins. to split apart each headlight. Then I sanded a little bit, taped off everything I didn't want to paint, sprayed 2 coats of primer, 3 or 4 coats of flat black paint, and 2 coats of clear to help prevent sun fading, and then reassembled everything. Turned out pretty good IMO. Make sure to seal them back up real good or you'll get moisture in them when it rains. I used some clear silicone sealant around all the edges after I remelted the black glue stuff. I'll put some pictures up later today or tomarrow morning sometime.

Sorry I didn't get those pics up when I said I would, but I couldn't find them. I finally found them this morning, so...enjoy.

Thanks for posting those. I've not seen many 04/05's blacked out by DIY. I'm going to attempt doing them soon if they're not too tough. I think the 01-03 blacked out look a little better but the stock OEM's for the 04/05's look better compared to the 01-03 stock headlights if that makes any sense.
