Engine oil change, Full synthetic vs. Synthetic blend??
Hi gang,
Just curious, as to what oil you guys run in your engines? I have a 07' SE with a 2.4L. I looking at getting using synthetic blend at the next oil change, seeing as it's a little bit cheaper than the full syn stuff and my car is'nt a race car by any means. It's just a regular daily driver for my fiancee. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year too all

To be honest, I don't think it matters much as long as you're following the maintenance schedule or better.
For whatever it is worth, I use conventional oil in my daily driver. Modern engines are very sturdy and reliable.
I'm assuming your vehicle has no issues and that you do not stress your vehicle under any weird conditions like drag racing or track duty, and that you follow the schedule or do better than the schedule.
I use very expensive oil for my track car, but I wouldn't ever recommend that for a daily driver, and I've not even going to mention what oil it is...because it is very expensive. :-)

I use whatever dino oil that is on sale at the time at Walmart. I would run a tighter oil change schedule than the MM because you often sit in H1 just to get into town.

I agree; it doesn't matter. Honda's k-series engines have to be one of the easiest, if not THE easiest, on motor oil. Consequently, if I lived in Hawaii -- ! -- I'd almost certainly run a quality conventional oil, such as Pennzoil's Yellow Bottle.
If you are determined to run either a semi-synthetic or a synthetic, those sold as "Genuine Honda" are bottled for Honda by ConocoPhillips, the same guys who bottle Motorcraft for Ford. A slew of oil analyses on bobistheoilguy.com have confirmed that "Genuine Honda" motor oil and Ford's Motorcraft are virtually identical. So, if you want to save a buck or two on either a semi-synthetic or a full synthetic and still use the stuff that Honda's selling, Motorcraft is your oil.
Hawaii -- !

Penzoil (yellow) is excellant oil. It's also pretty cheap.
If you decide to go full synthetic get Penzoil (silver) Platinum. You may see better fuel mileage with this, and you can run it a little longer.
