My father had his 2007 Accord at the dealer about a month ago for the airbag recall.

I just saw the car today and noticed that he has the original airbag cover still on the car. I've never seen an airbag assembly without the new cover already installed.

To anyone who had this recall completed, was your steering wheel airbag cover replaced also?

No. they are only replacing the inflator behind the cover.

Yeah it's just the inflator. The reason they have to replace it is because it's over-pressurized - a lot of Hondas 2001-2007 are affected. Some have just the driver's side and some both driver and passenger side.

Np. If they didn't do it they could get sued big time. I work at a dealership and it's my responsibility to deal with them lol. It's a huuuuge safety issue, several people have died
