Steering Wheel Airbag Question
Can I take off the cover that holds the airbag and remove the airbag from the cover? one my friends took out her bag in her factory steering wheel in her prelude and the cover looked open like it was deployed..

I'm not positive but I would only guess that you can remove the airbag from the cover. If you have the cover and air bag in hand it shouldn't be too hard to see if the two can be separated.

Your welcome.
It's not rocket science, the bag can either come apart from the cover or it can not.
This is a place where people come to ask questions, any form of rude commenting is not welcome. The people that made slanders to your question are not welcome and your rebuttal is certainly not welcome.
I'll do your research so no worries. I checked the Helms manual, if any source of information would show how to separate the two parts the Helms manual would show the instructions and it does not. I searched a Honda parts website, the airbags are sold based on the interior color thus concluding that the bag and cover can not be separated; at least not without some force. If the bag and cover could be separated one could conclude that a cover would be sold separately.
Now, with that said, if you have the airbag in your hand it should be fairly simple to determine if it can be separated from the cover. The airbag will not deploy with out an electrical current so you might be able to force it apart from the cover. I would take off my airbag and take a look but that is going to far.
