Default valve getting stuck open

Hey i have a 91 accord ex. One of the exhaust valves on cylinder one is getting stuck in the open position when the rocker arm pushes it down. It will eventually pop back up, and then during the next cycle the same thing happens. The rocker arm also doesnt seat properly with the valve stem. What could possible be wrong???

Don't take this wrong....a bent valve. If you put a socket on the adjuster lock nut and give a small "tap", does the valve "pop" back up. Then I have to ask, how did it get bent...t-belt broke, blown head gasket, ect....

Worn valve guides or sticking valve seals. If a leakdown test when the valve is closed is good, the valve is probably not bent.

Could also be a bad/broken valve spring.

The lose rocker arm will also cause the valve guides to wear unevenly which could cause problems like oil and carbon buildup inside the guide. You need a valve job if that's the case.

ok so i just removed the retainer, spring, and seal, but the valve will not slide in the guide. Is that caused by a bent valve or is there just carbon build up in the guide?

hold on....the head is still on the car? the valve will drop. If i'm reading this correct...stop, put the spring and retainer back on and lets re think this.

I put the cylinder to tdc and tied tread around the valve so it will not drop. also there is no way the valve will drop since it wont even move with the tap of a hammer. So im thinking the valve is bent or there is alot of **** in the guide?

Ok, I might have over reacted but just reading the two posts had me a bit worried....have you tried and type of cleaner that might soak between the valve and guide. EDIT-soemthing that won't harm the engine if it gets in the oil-seaform, ect.

Is there any kind of head gasket leak or has the t-belt broke...how did it get bent.

Im going to try some kind of cleaner. Im not sure how it got bent (if it is bent). No head gasket leak, or broken timing belt. I removed the rocker arm assembly to replace the lower spark plug tube seals and i must not have adjusted that valve gap right and maybe it bent when i started it up.

And you did you back all of the adjusters off before you removed/re-installed the rocker assy.

Hey guys. I have a 1995 Honda Accord EX 2.7 V6 Sedan, electric everything, sun roof, blah, blah, blah. I love this car more than s.x. well anyways, .....

My accord has the valve ticking bad. It has its days where it chooses it's time of when to make noise and tick,, or silent hum like a stock 2.7L V6 should. So I am about to test apart this motor and do this surgery of adjusting the valves.

Honda local dealership here, gave me the valve lash clearance. So with the states of

I am going to attempt this job tomorrow. $100 in parts and an hour or two. But this would be my first time adjusting valves. On this V6.
I am wondering if anyone with first hand knowledge can talk me the steps of how you've done this. Thank you.
