Default Problem climbing...

Hi guys,
My 93 accord coupe is having wierd problem. They other day my gf was driving it and complained that while driving the accelarator would go free. Sth like she would accellerate but the car would not pick up. she would have to let it go and then press it again and it was fine this incident repeated twice. at two different times.

I wasn't able to replicate the problem but, yesterday there is a bit of height that the car had to climb. I was atleast 55 when i hit the hike (straight road). It seemed as the torque of the car has been decreased. i thought i was just feeling it untill i saw the engine light come on. Once i turned off the car, engine light has not come back on since.

what can be causing this? or what else can i do to find out... it is an automatic..

Sounds like your transmission is starting to slip, you may have to get a new transmission

can it be a bad sensor... Frankly i would love it to be the transmission. because that gives me a chance to make it manual!
However I want to make sure it is not a bad sensor or sth small like that!

thanks f23...

If it is a sensor I really cant think of any sensor to affect that kinda prob.....the way your describing things sounds exactly like the problem of your transmission startin to go
