Hi guys,

I had a problem last night..... when I was driving my g-friend home, the car suddenly act strangely.... whenever i stop at a stop light, the rpm will slowly drop until the engine stall. I can restart and then the same thing happened..... I try to rev the engine but it will not react.... then after a few times, I will be able to start it and drive until the next stop light....

After around 5-6 times like this, I pull over to a gas station, the guy there checked the battery and he think it has to do with the alternator. After that, I drove to my g-friend's house and waited until a tow truck came.

Strange thing is the car seems perfectly fine at that point, and I was actually able to drive home. And the guy said everything looks ok and it will be very hard to check what the problem is.....

This morning, before going to work, I stopped by a shop and asked if they can help check what is the problem. Because of New year holiday, they will not be able to check until Jan 5th, but he said it maybe a sensor problem....

Sorry for the long description... just wants to know if anyone have similar situation and what was the problem.

if it was an alternator problem, the car would still run off the battery, right? and since you were able to restart it, I don't think the battery would have been dead. So, I guess what I'm saying is if the alternator was a problem, and it stalled out, that means it would have been running off the battery, and the battery died because it stalled. but since you restarted it, obviuosly the battery wasn't dead. So, its probably not the alternator.
