Default power window issues....

its a 91 accord wagon ex. passenger side window is down, and wont roll up. I have checked the fuses and all seem to work. When i push down, the power is there and the window wants to go down. But when i press up, nothing happens. IS the motor dead? i am not sure how to solve this problem.

have you tried from both the passenger side and driver side to see if either one will get it up??? if neither one work i would say its prolly the motor or the window came out of the track...

It's the Accord curse!! My drivers' side window does it all the time. I was told it was the window motor going bad.

You need to replace the window relay. Sadly this involves picking up the entire assembly. When I replaced mine in my first 5th gen I found Honda sells them for around $110, last I checked. Find it in the junk yard.

make sure the door wiring is ok. in older cars moisture gets into the boot between the body and the doors and tears up the wires.

my pass window never workd and i looked at the fuses, and motor, and realized it was the wiring, i took it apart and saw 3 wires broken including ground.

maybe ground is mesed in yours.

I havent repaired it yet, too lazy but it 99.9999% my wires, haha

DO NOT replace any relay it will be a waste of your money and time.........
you need to diagnose before you start replacing parts..

remove the door panel, get a test lite,, on the motor plug there are 2 wires .one has power going up the other provides ground, when going down the polarities are reversed

so get a paper clip, hook up the test lite to both wires and push the window switch up and down and chk for power . if the test lite illuminates on both wires,, than the wiring and everything going to motor is ok,,,,,which means that you got a bad motor

if test lite does not lit up going up, you could have a bad window up circuit in the switch, bad wiring ,,or bad power window control unit

let us know
