Oil Light
My cousin has an old 91 Accord that was purchased used as his first car about a couple of months ago. Couldn't help but notice that at times when sitting at idle, the oil light would come on and flicker. Checked the oil in the engine and found it to be clean and at the proper level. The thing that popped up in my mind is maybe the oil pump is getting ready to die, but not quite sure. Just wondering if anybody can give some advice. Thanks.

Re: Oil Light
if you have an extra oil pressure switch laying around try and see if that works if not check oil pressure, if oil pressure is low, FIRST make sure your oil pan isnt dented up. If it isnt its probally the oil pump

Re: Oil Light
Actually, 9/10 times when the oil pressure light flicks on and off at idle its due to worn bearings.
That other 1/10 may be the oil pressure sending unit, it is almost never the oil pump.
