Default Oil Leaking from above Oil filter 91 Accord EX

I have a 91 Accord Ex 250K. I have an Oil leak coming from above the OIl filter. Initially I thought it was the Oil Pan gaskets, but I change the gasket a week ago , its still leaking any ideas???????

head gasket or valve cover gasket ... if u havent done the headgasket for awhile most likey thats it. valvecover gasket is easy to inspect/repair. Headgasket is another story.

Forgive me for asking a stupid question . But if oil leak was above the oil filter why in the hell would you think that replacing the oil pan gasket would fix it ??

chk the oil pressure sending unit , it sits above the oil filter

The oil pressure switch is above the filter assembly as ^^^^^^ said, they definitely start leaking as time passes.

Honda Master, as I stated in my post. INITIALY I thought it was coming from the gasket because there was so much oil. However, after I changed the gasket and cleaned the engine I could see it was coming from above the oil filter.

Yes, I know I should have clean the engine first, but I didn't, Sorry to inconvenience you by doing it in the wrong order.

Thanks to you and everyone else who replied. I will check the sending unit.

had this problem once

replaced an oil filter but when I took it off
the gasket was stuck on the engine
so when I installed the new one it would leak

r u sure its not that?

cant you just buy that dye they sell and mix it in your oil? When it leaks you'll see the color of the dye and you'll be able to determine exactly where the oil leak is coming from. does that work well?

No inconvenience to me my friend ,, the inconvenience was all on your end.
I merely pointed out that it is a good idea to ALWAY diagnose first, before wasting money, time and effort , replacing unneeded parts
but I hope that it is the oil pressure switch , it is cheap and easy to replace .

This sounds like the oil pressure switch is the one leaking, the cost like 15 bucks.
