hit n run in parking lot w/ no note = me fixing car :(
Worked a regular 8 hour shift at work, went outside to go home and my bumper was on the ground, and my driver side fender was hit in, so i cant open my hood.
The bumper didnt take any damage, except the holes where the screws were, are now riped. No paint chiped or anything, and for the fender, its bent in, not to bad.
I really havent ever done body work before, and since my acct has 9 bucks in it, i am pretty much forced to do it myself. Not to sure where to start. Could I hammer my fender back into place? or should i just hit up some junkyards and replace it? For the bumper a friend suggested melting back the plastic where the holes were and just screwing it back in... not sure really though..
what do you guys think?

ultimately i would just get a new bumper and fender, if you're stressed on cash you can get oem replica's for pretty cheap, and the fitment wont be too bad, but for now see if you can find any additional holes in the bumper support where you can drill new holes in the bumper at. melting the bumper together is gonna get messy and i doubt it'll hold for long, assuming you even manage to rework the holes back together.
at the very worst you could drill new holes in the bumper and tie it back on for now, but you'll have to be extremely careful and i wouldnt recommend it.
good luck.

Melting is no good. Don't know how you guys do it out on the west coast, but is east it would be a lost cause. first question is what model car is it?

I'll vouch for that. My hood and grill are OEM replica that I got after my little accident I had a year ago. They fit pretty good for aftermarket.
You could do some junkyardin' too. Could save some $. Sorry to hear about your car.........hit n run folks rank up there with thieves.......in the "drug out in the street and shot" category.

y dont u just go through insurance??? unless ur deductable is crazy, it will prolly be cheaper and will end up looking almost new, plus with hit and run, ur not at fault so ur rates wont go up, unless u dont have insurance of course....

bro, you wont have a problem with finding a '96 bumper. I will never not find a part for my 95. I am actually thinking of piecing together a new interior set.
post some pics if you can. pretty interested how the hec your gonna try to get the damaged bumber on. crazy kat!

well heres how my car turned out... i hammered back the driver side fender into pretty good decent shape... i had to by a new bumper beam, which was 20 bucks at a junkyard. I had to hammer back the beam suppoert becuase that was fucked up, so i hammered that back into place. As for the bumper i literally tore up a kitty litter scooper and put it over the cracked holes and melted it back... haha...(ghetto number 1) and then i put the fender back on, put the bumper back on with a hella difficulty, i lost half the screws on the floor of where i was hit, so i got some zipties and rope and tied some parts of the bumper(under the car) together(ghetto number2) and then i had my corner light, the part that connecets to the car broke so.... i taped the ****** back on with clear water-resistant tape, which you can see all over that side, ill post pics as soon as i can. Overall the car looks pretty damn good, next week im gonna take it down to a real body shop to get it taken care of, but for right now its good

Don't be ashamed of your engineering skills when you are low on cash and need to make for last for a couple of weeks nothing is better than doing it the cheap way.
