Default Engine vibrates at ~700-800 rpm. disappears when press on gas (~1k rpm). Help!

I start the car (manual 95 accord LX, 90 kmiles), the rpms are ~1.7k. In ~ 5min the rpm drop down to ~700rpm (isn't it too low?) and i can feel the floor shakes a little bit inside the car. Now if i press gas a little bit up to 950-1000 rpm that shaking disappears. What is it? Do i need to play with fuel injector, i.e. increase fuel injection when at low rpms? Instructions how to do that are welcome.

Thanks so much!

my accord does the exact same thing, I've been told it's the engine mounts.

engine mounts or a bad vibration damper... check those out and see what you come up with

just what i thought. then why does this shaking disappear at 950-1000 rpm, its just 150-200 rpm more .. shouldnt it be shaking at 1k rpm as well if the mounts were bad??

Perhaps he should replace the engine mounts. Though it sounds pretty premature, because he only has 90K miles.

To check the engine mounts. Look for cracks and see if the mount is stretched. It will be difficult to get a fair assessment of the rear engine mount, but you can easily see and reach the front mount. Try and see if you can manually rock/move the engine back and fourth.

Also, as far as getting poly urethane bushings. It is not a good advice, unless this is not your daily car, and/or you don't mind that the dashboard is vibrating.

The engine mount is designed to absorb the vibrations made by the engine; now imagine where the vibration go when the the mounts are really stiff.

Sympathetic vibration frequency. Anyway, just get new stock mounts in the rear and get a front insert. It is the perfect combination and will not really change the vibration of the car inside.

Ehhh.

Either get OEM mounts, or poly. One or the other, but not both.

EDIT: superslow -> The thread about lambogini got shut down.

Yeah for a quick fix instead of buying the whole mout kit they sell polyurathane inserts for most accords for their motor mounts..

definately sounds like a motor mount but to note... those inserts can lead to a bit of additional engine noise/ vibration, as they are quite stiff.

I run the poly inserts... the oe stuff alone was not gonna hold up for me.

That is true, but for r3000's 95 accord there shouldn't be difficult to find.
