distributor timing
when i put the new distributor on my car i realized that it had moved somewhat when i put the new one in. i tried not to move it much but it did neways. it didnt turn the engine over, it just spun the distributor. would i have to use a timing gun to make it right, or would it have nothing to do with it? it runs fine now but when i first started it up the idle went up and down, then the next time i started it it was fine. i dont think it really maters cuz it runs fine, but i want to make sure its ok for my engine cuz i just put a new tranny and clutch in and i havent drove the damn thing for about 6 months cuz it was broken and i was broke.

if u advanced it a degree or two accidentally and hear no pinging/detenation then its fine. if you retarded it you should be feeling a tad bit sluggier.
heres a how-to do it the "ghetto" way: http://members.tripod.com/~Pre_ludE/pmods.html
