Default crank pully notches

Do you use the single notch or the 3 notches on the crank pully to set the timing by? Thanks

you use the single notch to set the mechanical timing. and the 3 notches are for the light gun when you set your ignition timing.

and while i had my head off i was watching the pistons to visually see when piston #1 was top dead enter. so i was going to eyeball the piston to see if the marks wher off a little, and once i eyeballed that piston to the most center point as i could

i looked at the mark on the cover and it was dead center in the mark so............

the timing marks DONT lie.
