cold air or ram air?
I have an '01 accord coupe EX and am thinking of doing some minor engine mods. I'm starting off with the obvious, some intake...but I don't know whether to go with AEM CAI or short ram. $$ is also a factor so I want to know which will give me more bang for my buck. Thanks

I got my CAI not too long ago. I dont feel any major gains in performance but about 4k the sound does startle the neighbors

XtcRacer: did you reset your ECU after installing??? otherwise, your engine's computer will not recognize and fully utilize the higher volume of air coming in... it still thinks it has the stock setup...

Yes, you can leave it for the computer to figure out, but it will take about 2-3 months for it to fully recognize the change...
Resetting the ECU will make it assume that this setup is what 'should' be stock and will adjust accordingly to it... hence better hp as a result of better breathing thru intake... do this for every new engine mod added...
You should be able to reset it by pulling the ECU fuse from your fusebox (check your manual) and leaving it out for 10-15 mins... then start your car with no accesories running (lights, stereo, definately no revving) for about another 15 mins... shut it off after that, then restart and drive it like normal... after a few miles your computer should recognize the higher volume of air and adjust hp output to utilize fully...
Whalla!!!
