my 1999 accord ex has just been cutting off driving down the road or just in idel doesnt matter it would crank back up eventually and i'd get back going. autozone told me that i have a code p1259 but couldnt pinpoint the problem i was told i would have to take it to honda. before i go there ive been on these forums trying to get help. Oil level is full i got the vtec solenoid valve off and it looked fined the screen was clean I was also told it could be oil pressure switch. Now, i was going to get the pressure switch checked today (i dont know how). but i was gonna buy a meter device and try. but as i was driving smoke started coming up from the steering colum smelled like something was burning so i stop cut the car off now the car will not stay cranked it will stay cranked if you hold the key all the way over i had to drive back holding the key all the way turned????????? the ON position will not work can anyone help with these two problems? You may have a problem with the ignition switch, which is separate from the P1259 code. If it started smoking, you better check the wiring too.
