Default 1990 Honda Accord EX Overheating

I don't know why, but my Accord keeps overheating. Does the oil grade effect this? It is getting warm out and my Accord is running on 5w-30. Should I switch to 10w-30? Well let me know what you guys think the problem is. THANKS!

Do your fans work?

Do you have coolant?

etc

Yeah, they both seem to be working. I did some looking around and some people said it might be from an old water pump. Is this possibly the problem?

it MIGHT be your water pump. try changing your thermostat 1st. go the Honda and get one from there. dont go to autozone. you'll get a crappy one and still overheat. once you put that new one in, be sure to get all the air out of the system. if you dont, air pockets will form and you'll overheat still.

theres a 10 or 12mm socket on the thermostat housing where you can air out the system. just squeeze the top radiator hose after you've changed the thermostat until the bubbles stop. it should be a steady stream of coolant. then you'll be good. if you overheat then, id say flush out your entire system. always check the cheapest solution before you move on the the most expensive. if you dont, you'll have that most expensive solution but if wont have ended your issue.

Be more specific, under what conditions does it overheat? Did you check the coolant? Are your fans coming on? Feel the upper and lower, are they both hot? When you have the cap off and you rev the engine can you see the coolant flowing? And your oil will have nothing to do with this problem.
