P07 ECU Can I chip it?
Well I have searched and found minimal info. I have a 5 wire VX... I am doing a B series swap. Does anyone know "knowing meaning from first hand experience" if the P07 ECU is able to be chipped?
pic of the ex, cause people look at threads with pics lol

From this link
"OBD1 ECU chipping
Now, with your new EPROM ready, crack the case of your ECU. All 92-95 ECUs made by Honda were able to accept an external EPROMs, even if they did not come with one from the factory. All 92-95 ECUs use the same procedure for chipping."
I've chipped P06,P05 never a P07
If it's OBD1 then you should be able to
I get my chipping parts from Xenocron.com or you can just buy the ecu already chipped.
Good luck

99% positive that you can not.
but just to be sure what are the numbers on the side of the ECU? following the 37820-P07-???

Re: P07 ECU Can I chip it?
Even thought this may be irrelevant at this time if other people stumble upon this problem and find this I'd like to say that I actually currently have the exact same car as this guy asking these questions almost it's a 1994 civic hatch with not an identical swap but it's a Japanese spec b20b bottom end std spec oem rods pistons with a oem b18b1 non vtec head I had a p28 ecu chipped and socketed but a friendly Nissan tech I work with broke a pin off my chip so I fixed the chip and the p28 I was using I didn't wanna use because guy I got it off of had jump a wire across the o2 sensor trace so I said well I got this stock virgin p07 let's see about chipping it it is the cali spec 5 wire (air fuel ratio sensor) they are not o2 sensors which is why when using a p28 ecu and b swapping you have to re pin the ecu to accept the standard o2 but when I cracked open the ecu I found almost the identical board all you gotta do is follow the standard chipping process and get the chip programmed and it should work 49 state or 50 state model shouldn't matter in assuming that since the vx models aren't very common this isn't a frequently asked question most guys just grab a p28 pretty easy to find don't quote me on this just yet since I haven't actually installed the chip yet it's on it's way but I will say the sockets are in place and I'm just waiting on usps but don't chicken out if you have the p07 ecu and chances are you'll need the p28 knowledge gained man chips are only 22$ for the kit it's worth a try on the p07 never know could save yourself 50 dollars it's a gamble but really it's worth the knowledge then you can pass it on to others to help them out that's what this site is all about

Re: P07 ECU Can I chip it?
The cali spec VX is a 4 wire narrow band heated O2 sensor (same one used on the D15B7 motor). The 49 state VX is the 5 wire wide band heated O2 sensor.
They ARE 02 sensors but with different capabilities.
I suspected the P07 being OBD1 should be chip capable as the base hardware should be the same flashable type ECU.
Where the trouble lies is the communication with the O2 sensor area and it's quite possible some of the common software used isn't programmed to talk to the wideband ECU hardware of the P07.
I kind of find this difficult to accept being a tuner has to add a wideband O2 sensor to tune the car but I am not sure how it's hooked up at the time of tuning.
I still believe it would be dependant on what was being used for the programming of the chip, aka Crome vs Neptune vs Hondata etc.
I suspect one of the softwares will let the ECU operate the wideband sensor required by the 49 state VX P07 ECU.
