d16y8 motor with the z6 cam what about timing?
my freind has a d16y8 motor , but broke his cam so put a d16z6 cam in it with the y8 cam gear, will the timing be the same as a y8 or a z6?

The cam keyway is 2 degrees out, I don't know which cam is which way. Ask a D-series cam maker that sells the cam for dual application, they should be able to tell you how you have to degree it...

i have been fighting with this for some time now. i put a crower z6 cam in my y8, with an aem adj cam gear. and haven't been able to get my timing right since. i emaild crower to ask the timing degree difference and this was there reply:
The Z series is 4 degrees retarded when compared to the Y.
