Ok guys I'm new when it comes to the K series (have had many F/H series). I definitely want to go K24a2 in a 90 Accord this time. Been doing tons and TONS of research and I've been putting the info to use. Here are my plans.. K24a2 longblock, complete ported and upgraded head and IM, with a set of pistons with a little comp bump in the block. Not looking for a redline over 8000rpm. I want to keep my OEM gear box so I will be using a 5spd trans from the CM5. 250whp would be awesome and is my goal. Car will be DD (93 octane) so PS and AC/Heat will have to remain. Also take a 400 mile trip a few times a year so reliability will be a big deal. I've seen two of these swaps done by members on here but they haven't been on in months. Any advice/input/help/info on where to get parts and/or services to complete this swap would be greatly appreciated. Experiences with certain part successes also. Mounts and axles with be purchased from Hasport and shifter cables from AFH. I'm sure it will be at least a $10,000 swap so I'm preparing for at least a year. Thanks in advance guys!!

For 10k why don't you just buy a TSX or something? Not sure about your area but I see the earlier years go for 5-6k in good shape around here. Add a few boltons to make 220whp and call it 7k. Newer, reliable vehicle while still being what you want and not having to go through all the headaches of swapping a vehicle and all that.

I can at least tell you that all the AC/PS stuff will have to be custom.

If you're attached to the old chassis, you may want to look into an H23A blue top. A little more reasonable and a whole lot cheaper.

Yeah I've have H and F series before so want to go a different route. Definitely attached to the chassis.

I mean I can totally relate after owning a CD5 for over 10 years now but still a barebones K24 swap is going to be around $3500 if you do a lot of shopping around and making a ton of trips to a junkyard. That's with a stock 160 flywheel horsepower Accord engine and a badly geared 5 speed trans with no amenities. You would basically be throwing away $3500 to make the car very slightly quicker than a stock F22 model. If you found a good K24 out of a TSX expect to spend around $1500 for the engine alone. If you can find the 6 speed trans, likely another $1000. Since you want to keep AC/PS expect to dump at least another $1500 in parts and custom lines, hoses, etc to get that to work. All the A/C lines will have to be custom and as far as I know most of the powersteering stuff as well. Add bolt-ons, KPro, tune and all the crap that goes with that and you're getting pretty close to your budget ceiling for maybe 230-240whp. That doesn't include all the headaches, custom work and hours of labor you're going to have to pour into it or pay someone else to do. Personally I could never justify the cost so I never went that route and stuck with the trusty H/F series platform. It just doesn't make sense to me but to each their own. You could make that power and have an engine that fit much better into the car while maintaining the factory AC/PS systems for less than half the cost and way less work with a built H series.

Yeah you definitely have a point and I see where you're coming from. It's just that squeezing anything over 250whp out of an H is going to require tons of work (most likely mix and matching parts from other motors) and would be at least $7k itself. Even tearing into the block in an H22 it's still like pulling teeth getting above 250whp. I'd much rather invest more money in a build with endless possibilities. I found a few JDM K24A motors for around $1200-$1500 shipped. Tranny is going to be the 5 speed from the 03-07 Accord so I say $600 max on that. H22 with LSD tranny anywhere from $1900-$2600 shipped I'm sure that custom work that will be needed will for sure cause the K24 swap to be more in the end but I don't suspect building a 250whp H22 will be far behind..

I use to have a CD7 and was a big Honda Accord fan. Why not get the Accord H22A Euro-R motor? 220hp out of the box? But It'll be interesting to see how your K24 build will go!

Well I really don't want to go back down the H22 road again. The H22 EuroR is OBD2 so converting that to OBD1 would be an extra step, and that 220hp is probably about 185whp. So again, getting the H22 to make the same amount of power as the K24 would require much more work. I'm positive the outcome of the K24 will still cost more, but it's something new for me.

I don't under how you guys are NOT reading what the OP stated. He wants to go a different route with his chassy, done F and H swaps already.

OP, doesn't seem to be much knowledge on HT for k swaps into an accord. Might have to high tail it to k20.org. I do see a couple good worthy build guides and the member might still be active to ask your questions.
