Dakota Digital with 05+ tranny + harness, 02-04 KPRO
Hey guys couldnt find a proper wiring diagram for fixing speedo issues when using a k20z1 gearbox, 05 engine harness and 04 ecu so i drew this up after alot of research.
the wire from output 4 can just be run to your converion harness and joined near your ecu rather than running the wire across to the cluster as theres limited space. just trace back the correct coloured wire from the cluster > conversion harness. in my case in was the white with green stripe wire on the hybrid racing conversion harness for 01 dc2.
after you have everything wired up correctly, tick the box for 05+ VSS in kpro if you already haven't.
take the car for a drive on the freeway and have a buddy calibrate the speedo using a GPS. mine read about 40km/h too fast so just had to hold the down button on the dakota unit until it matched up. easy

hey whats up... i'm using the same converter and haven't had any luck with getting my speedo to work... what did you have to do to get it to work... i've checked all of my wiring... the ecu is getting the signal cause the motor goes into vtec... i have no check engine codes so i'm a bit lost

did you run a wire from output 4 to your cluster? you dont actually give the ecu a modified signal from the dakota unit you leave it as is and just tee off the vss signal to the input.
if you trace your cars original vss wire back from the cluster (blue/wht in the diagram), to your conversion harness, you will find theres no wire going from the conversion harness into the ecu hence why your speedo isnt getting a signal.
also when you drive does the dakota unit flash green light?
