Cel p1399
So yesterday under heavy acceleration my CEL blinked on a few times maybe 3-4 times (It immediately turned off and stayed off). I took the car to autozone and had them pull the code and P1399 came up. I tried to look up the code online but I didn't see that code listed. I did a search and through another post I found that it means, "Manufacturer Control Ignition System Error." Anyone have any ideas on this, maybe a link with possible troubleshooting options? Thanks in advance.

Re: Cel p1399
right off all data
p1399 is a random misfire code and honda has reported for various models that this could be caused by clogged egr ports, in addition there is the possibility that the valve clearance spec may be out of range

Re: Cel p1399
Thanks for the info guys. One last question, when the check engine light blinks on a few times then turns off is it telling me there is a serious problem with the car or should I not be that concerned?

Usually the bad blinking light stays blinking. But when it blinks, it's always bad. Check your plugs and go from there. Would not hurt to do a compression test while you at it.

Re: Cel p1399
If you're having random misfires it's not good. If it's not your spark plugs that's the issue then your coil packs are going or are already bad.
The Ap1's occasionally had issues with coil packs failing. My coil packs caused random misfires and ended up putting a little hole in my headgasket. But then again, I was also pushing 18psi at the time.

the knock sensor is setting because of the misfires. check your spark plugs. if they look ok, inspect your valve clearances and valve retainers/keepers while your at it. look at your coilpacks for signs of burning or overheating.
