Problem with cluster swap. HELP!!!!!!
Okay, i have a 88 civic 4 door dx. I purchase a 89 crx/civic si cluster for and the rpm gauge is reading totally wrong. Its saying that when i'm at 20 in first gear i'm already at redline? Also if i really redline my car the rpm gauge will go way past the eight? WHATS WRONG? HELP ME GUYS!!!!!

i dont mean to steal the thread but mine is the same way except my temp is always up...my gas is always full and my rpm doesnt work at all

does the gauge bounce alot to? im thinking its a distributor problem ,,possibly the ignitor..

I know that someone knows whats wrong. Also just to include that I did a mpfi conversion to my dx. Would it be possible that it could be the two wire for the cylinder positioner? I got them hooked up right.

Mr. Speaker is correct, whenever changing clusters you should always check wire locations from the doner cluster to those on your cluster, wiring is often different even for same year cars and you may need to repin your plugs to make it work. Read the therad he suggested it will explain more.
