does anyone have the 1989 Honda Crx cluster in a 1989 Honda Civic Dx? its not plug and play i believe the 89 crx si has the same pin outs as a 90-91 crx si. just the shape gets changed 90-91. my crx si cluster isnt working properly in my 89 civic dx the rpm doesnt work along with everything else on the cluster it only lights up........

Maybe you have the wrong cluster..I dont mean years or anything..But there were 2 different companies that made the cluster in 88/89...1 is stamped NS and the other is stamped something else..I forget exactly what the other stamp is..But you have to use the same one that your car came with..

Have you found a solution to your cluster problem yet? I read this days ago but could not log in for some reason. Finally just registered again so I could correspond on H-T. Itried to get help to go back to my originaluser name, but noone wanted to help.
If you haven't solved the problem post up and I will try to help you. Ibelieve in helping others unlike most in this forum do. Sorry to complain, let me know if you need help.
Sorry I won't be able to help you today, I already have my 5 NOOB posts for the day! If you respond, I'll catch you tomorrow, hopefully in my 5 posts.
Dan

Thanks dfwaccord for prooving what I have said in the past. All same year clusters ARE NOT plug and play! Asyou can see from your pictures, the first noticable difference is that the NS (nippon Seiki) has 3 plugs, and the ND ( Nippon Denso) has 2 plugs. This 2nd paragraph is in response to the post below, because having to register again, I only get 5 posts per day!!!!! 19 more days and I will be a normal user again! Yahooooo!

They are different. Here are the backs. Both are from an 89 CRX. The one on the top is stamped NS and the one on the bottom is stamped ND

My car came with the ND and I couldn't get the NS to work in it. Everything plugs in but the tach didn't work and the check engine light came on.
