has it popped out again since the last time you reseated it? if so then you have too much positive crankcase pressure. check your pcv valve in the intake manifold to see if its functioning properly.

I'd have thought you would need a hell of a lot of oil in there for this to happen.

No, just a very good seal on the dipstick and tube to prevent the buildup of excess pressure from escaping.

You mean to tell me that Honda motors don't take 15 quarts of oil? OMFG THAT is where I have been going wrong this whole time.

That means you are doing it wrong, I actually leave a quart of oil attached to the valve cover, ready to pour in if the level ever drops below the valve cover. Without this extra, who knows what could happen?!

Holly **** that guy must have some skill, i have enough trouble getting it into the valve cover hole without spilling it.

Reread what he said... Filled to the top of the dipstick tube through the tube(which would take forever because oil is thick... I somewhat call BS on this story) Either way, if he filled up the whole bottom end with oil it would seep past the rings and fill up the combustion chamber. Obviously oil does not ignite like gas therefore the motor will not run. The second thing I could see happening is that the rotating assembley would be soo weighed down with oil that the starter would have a hard time turning the motor over fast enough.

He probably could have drained the oil, sprayed WD-40 a few times in the spark plug holes, and put in new plugs and it would have ran. Oh well not my stupidity...

^ if story true, then more due to the fact that oil does NOT compress very well once above a piston!!! (nor does water, hence "hydrolocking" would take on a new form-Yup!)
