Re: Dip Stick
has it popped out again since the last time you reseated it? if so then you have too much positive crankcase pressure. check your pcv valve in the intake manifold to see if its functioning properly.

Re: Dip Stick
you guys are hilarious. fyi, there was a feller in my school with a vw jetta who poured oil in through the dip stick hole, until it was full... and yeah it didnt ever start again, had to be towed to the junkyard, i went there and took the lip of that thing just to see if it will fit my hatch

Re: Dip Stick
Reread what he said... Filled to the top of the dipstick tube through the tube(which would take forever because oil is thick... I somewhat call BS on this story) Either way, if he filled up the whole bottom end with oil it would seep past the rings and fill up the combustion chamber. Obviously oil does not ignite like gas therefore the motor will not run. The second thing I could see happening is that the rotating assembley would be soo weighed down with oil that the starter would have a hard time turning the motor over fast enough.
He probably could have drained the oil, sprayed WD-40 a few times in the spark plug holes, and put in new plugs and it would have ran. Oh well not my stupidity...

Re: Dip Stick
^ if story true, then more due to the fact that oil does NOT compress very well once above a piston!!! (nor does water, hence "hydrolocking" would take on a new form-Yup!)
