89 Dx hatch wont start, motor questions
Hey, im not very knowledgeable in the workings of the pre 92 motor combinations so im coming to you guys for some help.
First off im looking to purchase this vehicle. it doesnt run but the price is right (fixing it up to just get it running)
i went by and looked at the car today (didnt try to start it myself) and noticed it has a d15b7 (92-95 dx) motor.
i am not sure what head is on the motor. it has PM3-8 stamped on the head so im assuming that is the the d15b2 head (DPFI) (i referenced that to my d15b7 and mine has pm9-3)
the motor is getting fuel and spark
assuming the motor combo is d15b2 head dpfi / d15b7 block this issue comes up
the d15b2 head has 37 teeth on the cam gear and the d15b7 has 38 teeth. that would pose a timing issue correct?
im sorry if i confused anyone. i wish i knew exactly which head this was
any info would be appreciated. especially if anyone has put a d15b2 head onto a d15b7 block

another note
i am quoting this from another thread on another forum
"I have a 91 d15b2 with pm9-3"
my d15b7 head says pm9-3 on it....did honda use the exact same head for the b2 and b7?
if that's the case then the only difference in the heads are the cam gear used on the b2 and b7.
can anyone confirm that a b7 cam gear has 1 more tooth than a b2?
