DPR, Alaniz, or Portflow ???
Ok, here's the deal, I have been reading about everybody's "back from the dead 84.5mm overbore block and matching it to the CC in the head. Well I found a new CC porting company (well new to me anyway...) and they are Alaniz Cy. Head Technologies. Well this came at a perfect time. I have a 1994 B18B1 head that I am running with my turbo motor. I will be boosting about 28 lbs of boost when it's all over and I am going to try and stick with like an 82mm bore with compression around 10.5:1 or so... (this is a motor I am building in my garage not running this motor now.) now when I cam to the head I at first contacted DPR heads and dan talked to me for about 45 - 1 hr. about what my needs were and what I wanted him to do for me. Then after reviewing it all for about 3 or 4 hours he called back and spoke with me for about an hour and a half going over in detail what he though my head porting needs were and what he could do this guy didn't know me from adam when I called him and he just voluntered this info to me and spent a lot of thought into my needs. And as far as valvetrain he didn't even recomend all of his own stuff on some of the parts because he said i didn't need it and that another company might be better, or that his wouldn't handle it and "XYZ company" would probablly work out better, so I wrote everything down and kept it and he left me with his cell phone # and said when I decide to do something give him a call and he'll help me out.
Then I heard of portflow... I tried calling them a couple of times all I got was an answering machine... Already portflow was looking like some large scale volume port & polish shop that didn't have time for their customers (or it could be they were working on heads and couldn't get to the phone...) either way I didn't get a good feel for them, they do good work but I kind of think they are a company like Pep Boys where 99% of the people that answer the phone don't even know what the products do (except for what the book tells them...) so I'm still waiting to hear back from them but so far not too impressed with customer service...
Then the company called Alaniz was brought to my attention and 2k-teg was saying that he got somewhat of the same treatment from them as I did from DPR they have excellent Cust. Svc. and they are more than willing to help you out... They seem more like the company that I was looking for to do my work on my cyl. head. now a big concern of mine is their experience... DPR I know has some very good experience and has had it for a while and Alaniz seems to have the same kind of quality with Eriks Racing winning like he is winning so I don't doupt their knowledge. But for around the same price I have Dan of DPR walking me through not just my head, but my whole motor... and I was very pleased with his dedication to his customers and to quality.
so I come to the Peanut gallery for some recomendations for my final decision. What do you think it is mainly between DPR and Alaniz but if someone is hellbent on Portflow than tell me why and if they think it's worth the extra money... Thanks guys and just for reference all of the shops numbers are below if you want to try and call them for your own needs.

Re: DPR, Alaniz, or Portflow ??? (roby)
I just got my head back from Port Flow yesterday and was very happy with it. I could be wrong, but I think they are actually a pretty small operation, but get a lot of work due to their reputation.
