NEED HELP WITH B18B IN A CRX
Ok so i just got this car. ran fine till the old battery died. Got a new battery hooked it up now it wont start. It will start like 1 time out of 10 times of trying and die after 3-20sec. Then it will turn over but no fire. i went over the wiring harness and its cut. so i called the guy and asked him whats up with it. he said its a pr4 ecu, d16 wiring harness, and a b18b acura inetgra motor and trans. so my question is could some one tell me what and how to go and fix this. or have a wire diagram for the b18b,pr4, and the d16 wires so i can sit down and go threw this.

ummm... if its cut/hacked, you may save LOTS of time by just getting a new engine harness for an Si.. i had the same issue with one i built years ago..
where is the harness cut at? like, did someone try to change all the plugs and whatnot by hand?

Get the harness that is for your car whether it be Si or not. Then add and delete the necessary plugs to make it work. Look in the FAQ's at the DPFI to MPFI and other links and all the diagrams are there. You are better off just starting from scratch and not trying to fix a hacked up harness.

well it so far it seems like these two wires that lead to to cap and rotor are both spliced in to areas. the a sensor on the engine block with a white wire is not conected but the end is striped. some black tap and crimp blue wire connectors. its not completely hacked. i dont think. i have not ripped the dash out. but there is so far about 6 wires that look modded. there is this one i have no clue what it is, but it has 3 wires that are running threw this coax type wire. and the three are not splice into anything untill it gets by the ecu. but this coax wire is wrapped and spliced into a black with a red line wire. i think the dude tried to do the DPFI to MPFI. i have no clue lol befor now i only worked on 300zx and american cars lol

Re: NEED HELP WITH B18B IN A CRX
wow.. that is all bad.. a botched mpfi conversion will hurt ya...
but since you need mpfi, you can swap an mpfi harness in there, and you will be good to go.. get the whole harness, inside and out...
I mean, yes.. you CAN try to rewire it and make it right, but you may sit there for DAYS trying to figure it out.. but if you do it, more power to you.. lol.. you have more patience than I..

The MPFI has a extra plug for the body harness and also has the resistor box, injector plugs, ect... It is MORE than not worth it to try and put a MPFI harness in a DPFI car. You have to pull the dash out and a lot of panels/carpet... If you can't do a DPFI to MPFI swap then you might have bit off more than you can chew...

lol i hope not. but i found a thread that explains the swap so tomorrow i am going to spend all day in there messing with it. i hope i can fix it lol i got laid off so money is tight.
do you know any other way to make this b18b work with the 91 ecu pr4 while using the d16 harness. or should i find a wreck 94 integra and rip the harness and ecu out of that?

IF you get an Integra harness then you ARE asking for a NIGHTMARE!!! I am assuming your CRX is a HF or a Si (MPFI) from the factory since you keep saying D16 harness. The swap is actually very easy and straight forward and only 4 wires need to be added from the ECU for the swap. A few wires switched around, some extended, and you have a "did and done" swap.
Read multiple DPFI to MPFI swap guides and you will be happy you did. Most on here give conflicting information about the correct way to do it. If you read as many as you can then you will be able to see through the bullshit.

Well... take it with a grain of salt. If he messed the car up that bad in the first place I would say he isn't to be trusted.

i found out what the problem was. tps and cyp wires were not connected right. and the yellow and black strip wire was cut to the injector box. But now it runs great
