Ok, I created this thread for 96-00 coupe owners with trunk leaks. Another poster said he found missing lower grommets in his trunk which caused leaks, but in the lower section, this got me thinking.

There is a mystery leak on the upper sections of the trunk by the rain channels on the left and right sides of the trunk running from the back window going down by the tails.

I have a diagram with body grommets, look closely at #4 (says 10 of these required), ok if you look at the diagram it shows 1 right at the run channel of each side.

Coupe owners go check your trunk and see if you see this grommet in the left and right run channel, I will have to check mine too.

If anyone has a camera and can snap a pick of this grommet if you have it, please do and post it.

This is making me think is it missing and causing this hard to find mysterious leak?????


Please guys do this even if you do not have the leak, just to see if this what causing the top run channel leak.
