leaking water into trunk!?!?!?!?!?!?
i have a 96 coupe and my trunk is like a fish bowl. if i get in the trunk with a light and have someone hose off the car i leaks from the body seams around the trunk but not from the lid or the weather striping. How common is it for a rear window to leak. cause that is the only thing i can think of.
HELP!!!

did you remove the carpet in the trunk? if you did there is a pannel behind the wheel well, that the carpet blocks. When i gutted my car i couldnt figure out where it was the i found it. If you look in it its right behind the rear fender. I put some plastic over it and used silicon to seal it.

Tail light Gaskets.
I recommand people change these every 2 to 3 years. Less than 20 bucks brand new from Honda Dealerships. Cause the chances or water coming in from sunroof, rear windshield and trunk lining is so minimal compare to tail light gaskets.
My hatch had the same problem, and I have done every checking from sunroof to gasket and finally target the problem.

I have a 99 si. I had a leaking problem, and it wasn't from the taillights or window. I had my trunk open, poured water down my window, and saw that it was leaking from where i circled in the pic below. The welds on the metal came off in some spots, and there was separation of the overlapping sheetmetal. My car has never been in an accident, I bought it brand new from the dealership. I never had this problem in my 97 DX, but happened on both sides in my 99 Si.
I fixed it with clear silicon.

Huh, thats really odd. I would try what they say.
Or pull the seat down and get in there with a light while your friend sprays it. See if you can locate where its comming in from at least.

Re: Gaskets etc
If you want your weatherseals/taillight gaskets to last longer and look nicer, periodically wipe them down with rubbing alcohol. Then apply a very light layer of the clear silicon grease you'd use on spark plug boots. If its glossy, you've got too much, you want to be able to see the grain of the rubber. As a bonus, for those of you out there who get cold winters, your doors won't freeze shut. I'm from northern Alberta, and it got down to -61F (no ****) for a few days last winter. It works. Jim.

Re: (eksleeper)
do you have a sunroof? could it be the water coming through that, and down the drain pipe and into the trunk? check the tube behind the carpet, mine is on the passenger side, big clear tube

Re: (CooBlueDAB)
I checked out my trunk tonight when I got home, and it turns out it's leaking from the vent on the left side panel under the bumper. It was raining today so I checked what the trunk looked like and the only trace of water I found was coming from the left side panel.
