Default A little exhaust help please-

I am doing a budget modest goal (125-130 whp)mini me swap on a 96 ek hatch and i am starting in on the cali dx exhaust which has the cat right up on the motor. so i have a nearly new 98 ex header, and from what i have searched up a 96-00 ex- or 99-00si cat will do the trick. what i am wondering and could not find when i searched was:

is the ex and si cat back ehxuast the same dia?

can one easily mod the sedan cat back to fit the hatch?

thx-

EX/SI's are the same diameter exhausts.

Sedan exhaust is exactly one cat lenght longer than the coupe... however the coupe/hatchbacks are different... I BELIEVE it CAN work but it's a pita... I think the mid section is basically the same but the bend over the rear LCA is different....

I KNOW for example the magnaflow system for 2/4 door is the same... if you get it for the 2dr you basically get a free test pipe... if you get it for the 4 door you just get a complete exhaust.

But it's an entirely differnt part number for the hatchbacks...

IMO save the pain and get a hatch catback exhaust.

i am doing almost the same thing right now i have an ex header sitting right now and what i have heard is that you can use any cat, and what Apex told me that if i am using ex header and cat, the axle back portion is the same, but the b pipe are different from the ex/hx/si and the dx/lx models. so i am going for the ex ws2 exhaust and have to extend the o2 sensors to make them work with the header/cat combo.
