Brakes grinding weird.
Hey H-T! Today I noticed my brake pedal felt squishy & I noticed when turning fully left I hear a grinding noise from my passenger front wheel & I saw that the brake rotor was being eaten up on the outside edge... What could cause this? I've searched & all people said was heat shield but it's not lol & it's not a cv axle cause it's a grinding not a clicking noise... It's now just randomly doing it, I did hear a odd sound when I was braking hard yesterday, must have something to do with it. & it's a 1997 civic EX

Re: Brakes grinding weird.
I had kinda the same issue on my 95 Del sol, the reason why that happened was because the bolt for the axle was loose and as soon as it was returning to tighten, noise stops, but the damage on the Rotor was there already.... take a look on it that may be the reason....

While you have the caliper off, check for any looseness in the wheel bearing. If the wheel wobbles the bearing is bad.
@OxD, driving with the axle nut loose is probably going to ruin the bearing.

Indeed... recently starts to make that annoying noise of the bearing going bad... so... but still the issue with my breaks had a similar symptoms and the mark on the rotor on the same area...
