Is 94+Integra ABS Master Cylinder Compatible with NON-ABS EJ8?
Hi,
I am working on getting the stuff together for my rear disc brake upgrade right now, and I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not it's possible to use the ABS MC from an Integra on a non-ABS Civic and just plug the extra hole with a bolt + washer or something?
I know that otherwise this MC would work....
Thanks for the help

That setup won't work. The bolt holes wont line up between the Integra MC and the civic brake booster... Then there's the whole mess of re-flaring and possibly extending your hardlines...
I would suggest you use a 96-00 Civic EX ABS MC and Brake Booster. Its a 15/16" MC and you don't to deal with re-flaring your hardlines. Just a minor massage to line things up since the EX ABS booster sticks out a little further than the non-ABS booster.
+++ after thought +++
If I'm not mistaken, the EJ8 already comes with a 7/8" MC. That should be plenty for a straight forward rear disc conversion. That's how the EM1's are setup. Not that I've noticed any real difference, most people will harp on getting a 4040 prop valve from an EM1 or any 96-00 hatchback civic...

Thanks for the reply
I've spent three days over the last week at the junk yard and compared parts extensively. I have noticed the following:
1.
My MC is quite small, dunno if it's 7/8 or 15/16ths, but it's small and rectangular
The Integras 90+ all have much bigger, round MCs
2.
The lines on the 90-93 Integras connect to the drivers left side of the MC
The lines on my MC, AND the 94+ Integras connect to the drivers right side and middle (vertically), which is exactly the same as my EX.
3.
The bolts for the MC on the booster are horizontally aligned on both my EX and 94 plus Integras.
The bolts on 90-93 Integras are diagonally aligned.
So the plan is to use a 94+ Integra booster + MC. Pretty sure that it will not only work, but that it is necessary. I might be wrong, but I have a $50 credit at the junk yard, so I am going to go see what I can get.
I am mainly concerned with the ABS/Non-ABS MC problem... AFAIK, the only different is that the ABS MC has an extra line hole. I have pretty much answered my own question as to whether or not it can by plugged by extensive Google searching and finally turning up this: http://www.oichan.org/mods/abs/abs2.htm
That guy had the same problem and used a plug like this in the extra hole:
Pretty sure that I can solve my problem the same way, that guy did.. I just don't know where to get plugs like that.

Your car should come with a stock 13/16" MC.
The 96-00 EX is what Im about to put on my 2000 hatch and it is 7/8".
Go with that it should do you just fine.

If you want something simple that just works and takes out all the guesswork just use a '99 - '00 Civic Si master cylinder.
