Re: help please! problems with fuel pump
well is it just not turning on?? is it intermittent?
start at the fuel pump and work your way forward. (helps to have a friend around for this )
Get a test light.
lift your rear seat and access the Fuel pump Wires.
There should be two/three wires running to the Fuel reserve light sensor.. and two going to the fuel pump .. one black .. the other Yellow with a Green stripe... turn off alarm and turn your key to the on position where your fuel pump would normally turn on ... and check if there's current...
if there is current flowing to the wires above the pump .... but your pump still isnt' turning on .. pull it out the tank and take a look for anything burnt and test a short direct connection to the pump form a battery ..
2nd check ... move along the side of the car opposite to your car's ECU. (in SA the ecu is on the left.. with the wiring for the fuel pump etc running along the right hand side (drivers side) and follow the wires to a plug under the kick panel .. you'll find a long plug with these same Yellow wires withthe green stripe . check for power there.. also check that these wires aren't loose.. being a tightly packed wire it often comes loose (what happened on my car causing the intermittant issue)
if there's still no current there.. check the wiring harness which runs to your alarm box.. one side should be plain black wires.. but ont he other side there should be your friendly yellow wire withthe green stripe... 3 of them to be exact... if you looking at the plug's terminals .. it should be the wires in the bottom corner. (opposite side is other colours) check for power there... if still nothing check the wires going into that fuel pump relay you replaced... if still nothing.. get your alarm box/ immobilizer checked .
If I recall correctly the Sequence it goes on is Ignition Powers your alarm box which powers our fuel pump relay which powers that Plug which then powers your fuel pump in that order (i stand corrected with the Cars that side and with the factory alarms there.. but just things which could cause issues.

Re: 94 Civic - fuel pump problems
It would be very helpful if you actually told what what the symptoms are. You say "fuel pump" problem, but if you replaced it, and the symptoms persist then it's not the fuel pump?
