I have a 91 honda accord and I parked my car with the front facing down a hill about 30 angle, now the car won't start.

I bought 8 litres of gas in a canister for the car but it still won't start. Anyone have any idea what to do? I notice just recently that the green "S" light has been on constantly (not flashing, was flashing prior to it though on cold starts).

There's a van in front of my car so I can't put it in neutral and roll it down the hill. And I live about a mile or two from where it is parked so I can't check on it that often.

Maybe you need to beat the crap out of the starter? Is it even turning over?

Is the starter turning over?

Sometimes when vehicles are tilted at odd angles, it can flood the fuel injection system making it hard to start. When this happens you have to just keep cranking it until the fuel injection has been flushed out. Make sure your car is hooked up via jumpers to another during this time. Just throwing this idea out, its rarely a problem with cars, usually it happens on motorcycles.

If you ran it low enough on fuel the fuel filter may have gotten clogged up with sediment from the bottom of the tank (this is assuming it cranks, but won't fire). See if you can rent a fuel pressure gauge from Autozone (or whatever parts store) that connects to the schrader valve on the fuel line, key the ignition to the run position a few times to let the fuel pump prime the system, and then check the pressure. If it is low, you could have a dead fuel pump, or plugged filter.

Yea it's turning over, but won't start. I'm gonna go have another look at it today.

So i checked it today, the "s" light is contantly on now... it use to blink on cold start. And also, the passenger side, there's a huge puddle of water, atleast 3 inch high... could this be the problem?

Yeah, the water on the passenger side is the problem. Under the passenger side carpet is the ECM and the TCU.

this happen to me at my job i parked in the garage on the down side . i thought it wasn't getting fuel ,.come to find out the dizzy gave out . i replaced it ,and it fired rite up . before that i replace every thing i could think of to get it to start . . not saying this is your prob , but definitely check in to it .

another thing, when i try to fire up, my transmission is making these knocking side.. as if it's not in gear.

anyways, what do i have to do now? replace the ecu? how much will it cost?

Pull up the carpet and try to dry up the ECU and TCU (there are two units under there) and see if you can get it to start.

The transmission won't shift properly without a properly working TCU.

Hopefully you won't have to replace both units.

If it needs replacement, your best bet is to get the part numbers off your units and find used ones through Ebay, salvage yard, etc., as they are very expensive if you purchased them from the dealers.

You can easily replace them yourself (10-20 minute job). Look at the link I had posted previously in this thread.
