high oil presure?
my oil presure reading 75-100 and im using mobile 1 10w-30 could that be why th oil thin? should i use thicker oil? any suggestion please help.

thicker oil will usually raise the oil pressure slightly..
are you sure your gauge is reading properly? hook up a good mechanical oil pressure gauge to double check and try using 5w30 engine oil........
up to 75-80psi is fine........anything higher than 85psi is a little on the high side but still ok.....but 100psi is a little to high and you might run into problems.

For me, moving oil press is about 80. Cold idle oil press is about 60 and warm idle oil press is about 20-25. Im rocking a 11.5:1 built lsvtec using Castrol 10-40. These numbers come from my mechanical autometer oil guage.

i think its like 75 cold warm around and moving around 80 and WOT it close to 100. im also boosted and i have a electrical guage.

I had an electrical guage for about a year and then switched to a machanical guage. I rocked about 100 psi a WOT until I was running at op temp for about 20 min then it would be about 80. It think is was due to the string guage in the sending unit being affected by the heat and loosing resistance. I dont trust electronic guages.

Cold oil is thicker than warm/hot, When you first start your car the oil is cold, so you get a higher reading. As the oil warms, it thins out and your pressure will go down, it's normal for it to do that and has nothing to do with the gauge.
High oil pressure is a good thing, I wouldn't worry or complain about it
When my motor had 10w30, at idle when warm press. was @ 20psi, I switched to 20w50 and now it's at 30psi @ idle (750rpm) when warm

So your saying that even though the spring in the oil pump opens at about 80 psi it will allow 100 psi when cold. I was talking about the string guage in the sender changing resistance when its fully heated up and allowing less voltage lowing the needle in the gauge.
And if thats not the case, why does it not do this fluctuation with my mechanical gauge?

I'm no expert, but I do know that the thinner the oil is, the less press. you'll get...
With that being said, the temp isn't why the gauge reads lower, it reads lower because the oil is thinner when hot.
I too have a mechanical gauge and I trust it more than a electrical one, just put back in your mech. gauge

You know, that's a damn good observation. I always figured the higher pressure at cold startup was from the relief passage in the oil pump being too small. That would explain the higher pressure, similar to how an undersized wastegate causes boost creep.
You're saying your mechanical gauge never shows higher pressure at startup?! Maybe it's time I ditched my electrical gauge...

Re: (laziebun)
do you run your oil feed line and your pressure guage off your pressure sender? if so, and you have an oil restrictor going to your turbo...the restrictor might be too small resulting in an increase in pressure at the sender....but not anywhere else.
