Re: greddy turbo kits (redteg1)
hi, you are pretty close to me. I have heard mixed reviews about the power issue but i am sure you could get 300hp out of it with some type of ecu upgrade like the hondata.

Re: greddy turbo kits (lsinteg)
with the stock Greddy kit I dont think 300 hp is possible. Youre right about the ECU, you'd need a new one but also you'd need a new downpipe and the internal wastegate would have to go. Also the manifold is a little bit restrictive.

Yeah, the kit in stock form is great, it's super reliable, legal, and I like the blue box idea. But I just think it'd be a little hard to get 300 hp out of the kit in stock form.

i just kind of ended up with the intercooled kit, two weeks old from a friend, for $1200. i can't complain because it is in a fully gutted hatch hybrid, so yeah...it makes a good pet. if you put it in a hybrid application, you will have serious azzhole ripping ability to many many cars despite the "so called limited potential" of the "greddy".

Re: greddy turbo kits (TypeRdude)
At 97.9 degrees farenheit , with a 1997 ITR motor, GSR Greddy Kit, Greddy Type 31 Intercooler, HKS S.S.B.O.V, Aem Fuel Rail, Aem FPR, Fields Vtec Controller, Apexi N1 exhaust, I made 208.5 whp and 179.8 lb-ft of torque. The dyno guy told me that if it was about 20-30 degrees cooler, I would have seen around 240-250whp. Another interesting thing is that Max boost was reached at 7000rpm @ 7.8psi, and after that, trailed off to 5 psi until redline. I was told that a boost controller would aid me.
We were interested to see how much hp potential the Greddy Turbo has, so my mechanic pulled the vacuum line out, and boost surged to 15psi. At 6000rpm, at 15psi, the car was making 230whp @ 100 degrees Farenheit!!!!. So, the potential for this turbo is high, although not as high as the rev hard or drag kits.
Due to my thirst for more horsepower, I am selling my turbo kit, which is only 3 months old, because I am going to build up my motor and put an HKS GT turbo on it. If anyone is interested in seeing the dyno graph, or interested in purchasing my turbo kit, plz IM me.
I hope this provided much information.
