Default Gredy turbo kit knock-off

Basically I want to build a kit just like the Gredy but I don't need the e-manage instead I want to use uberdata. T25 turbos from nissan silvias are cheap I need to find a manifold and downpipe which would fit just like the gredy kit. Is there any place that sells a gredy type manifold and downpipe?

Why don't you just buy a used greddy kit without fuel management? I picked up one for $850.

I did the same, and it turned out really well.

Buying a used greddy kit is definately a good option. You can also piece together your own kit with a better turbo, better manifold, external wastegate, etc. for around the same price so its your call.

I pieced together a very similar setup to what is in RedTegLs's sig, for about $3,000. Its a pretty bad *** setup. You should piece yours together, kits are expensive and you dont get the parts you want.

Either pick up a greddy kit used like said above or you can do a sub $700 setup with ease. Im guessing you have a D series(because you mentioned the T25)

T3 .42/.48 or .60/.48= $100
Log Manifold= $175 (www.homemadeturbo.com and pm Stealthmode)
FMIC= http://www.johnnyspeedracer.com I cant say how much i like mine and how good the welds look 5"=$190 last i looked

Charge pipes=$70 on http://www.jcwhitney.com

might as well spend $50 on a BOV off a turbo charged car

there is your kit, that should be under $1000

uberdata>>>>>>>>>>&g t;>>>>>>>>>>>Shi t in your hand>>>>>>>>emanage'

in all seriousness they are incomparable. Emanage is a fancy AFC while uberdata changes what your ECU reads rather than just screwing with the map sensor.

not to mention uberdata is cheaper

Uberdata is awesome if you are willing to dedicate time to learn about it. If not it may work out and it may not.

thats johnnyracecar.com. Try overblown motorsports for a FMIC too. He's overblown-teg on ht. Stealthmode doesnt sell the manifolds anymore. Try BMCracing on home made turbo. $185 and his manifolds are beautiful.

wow, i wasnt aware of stealthmode cutting down his inventory....either way BMC is a great seller as well and $185 is a killer price.

Not as a knock to Todd, but Tyrus's welds are a bit better

I have used Crome (Uberdata Type) software and it does the job just fine. Majority of all the free tuning software out there will do the job. You can take a look at them on my site in the sig.. Clubboost. The only thing to keep in mind with the custom kit is the piping. If your not a handy man then you may want to look for a used pre fabbed greddy kit for your 1st. Then learn as much as you can then build a nice kit later.

Well answer this:
what car do you have? EF/EG/Ek dc?
what motor?
what do you expect from your cheap FI setup?

I personally think you should just keep it simple and get the greddy kit. If this is your 1st boosted car then keep it simple or you'll regreat it!

Trust me the only time you should go custom is (all IMHO):
a) your looking for a specail power band that regular turbo kits do not have the approate turbo for

b) you really know your ***** about FI and just want to mess around with a junkyard turbo kit for fun

c) your making a 400+whp setup that requires a specisal composition of parts

keep it simple and easy TRUST ME....
Sorry I wasn't trying to sound like a ***** but i just don't want you to waste a crap load of money on a "custom" kit that you think will out perform another kit. FI is fun and expensive so pace yourself and do what is best for the buck and most cost effective. .. make sense

Well you have to understand that jdm silvia turbo's were t28 with the JDM t25 flang. Meaning they have a different flange than the regular garrent DSM t25.

Also buying a used greddy D or B series manifold will run about $150 to $200ish
Silvia turbos have different specs not all of them are the same. The t28 will bolt on to the HKS Bseries manifold or the Greddy B or D series manfiold.

if you do get the T28 YOU CANNOT USE THE GREDDY downpipe ! it will require custome down pipe. SEARCH on the NISSIAN sites and you'll see a few of them that will work inside a honda engine bay.

I think you can IM Charlie Moua or JalopySiR they know their stuff about t28.

hope that help some what

Well answer this:
what car do you have? EF/EG/Ek dc? 93 CIVIC EX COUPE
what motor? D16Z6
what do you expect from your cheap FI setup? Reliable 150 to 170ft- torque at 3000 rpm

For some reason I thought the greddy kit came with the silvia turbo. Only reason I want to go custom is I think that UBERDATA is an infinitly better way to tune and I don't want to pay for e-manage if I'm not going to use it. Hell uberdata is better than a standalone for moderate HP because you can start with Honda's stock tune.
Looks like my best option is to buy the Greddy kit for $1400, sell the emanage for $200, add an intercooler for $300, buy chip burning equipment for $100. Total would be $1600 and I could keep my PS/AC.

wow, $1600 is about what i spent for my exhaust, full turbo kit, and clutch.

PIECE IT TOGETHER!!! not to mention that 15G turbo is good for like ~225whp. You would be much better off with a T3. even if you get a dinky .42/.48 the flange will be the same so you can upgrade any time you want to with out having to search hard for a turbo. that is mainly why im a firm believer in T3 turbo/manifold b/c they are the most common so it makes one less headache incase you ever want to upgrade

I am a strong believer in the DIY T3 turbo for most cars, I'm new to honda but it looks like it would be very difficult to fab a manifold which would alow you to keep the AC and PS. That is the only reason I am looking at the greddy kit.

my setup cost $1017 with everything including vaccum lines and gauges. Add another 100 on top of that for uberdata. Beerbongkicksass setup is very nice. I'm actually thinking about using his uberdata bin file.

well if you only need 170whp and 150tq the greddy kit would be fine. Buy a used kit with the 15G. So what if you get the blue box... they are cheap. With the greddy kit you get the blue box piggy back ecu system NOT the emanage display unit!!!!

are you clear on that?

get a used greddy kit for $1,000 to $1,3000 + uberdata or hondata and call it a day.

nothing hard about it.

The JDM silvia t28 would probably be more laggy than the 15G for sure!
