From my understanding yes that would work fine, you can also look into summit racings reasonators pretty cheap too!

Get a 3" Summit Glasspack. They are $20. I used that in place of a resonator, no miffler though, sounds pimp.

Its for my truck i have a flow master 50 series and its not anoying loud but if i can bring it down a bit id be happy.
