bad exhaust smell inside car...
*update* i went to a muffler shop today . dude said i have no leaks, so i thought wth? he said my problem is coming from my exhaust fumes going in through my trunk. Anyone else ever have this issue?
well ive had the problem of smelling exhaust in my car now for almost a year . it sucks. cant seem to figure out what it is. i had it looked at and the mechanic was stumped too. the problem all started when i installed my turbo kit. my questionis that my mechanic installed my injectors with some extra washers . he said this would help on not having the injector crush the o ring on the intake manifold. could the smell be coming from here? i am using lucas 440cc injectors. anyone else had to use washers to make them fit right?
cliff notes:
Exhaust smell inside car(really strong)
washers were used to make injectors fit right, could smell be coming form here?

mine did that for a while, my leak was due to a loose downpipe bolt. so make sure all you bolts to the head, mani, and turbo are all tight

yup, do it with the engine compartment cold (first time i started the car that day), start it and stick your hand and try to feel for warm/hot air coming through the flanges. You should also see carbon deposits

are you running a catch can or stock pcv system? did u remove your pcv valve completely and just allow crank case pressure/gasses to be vented directly into the atmosphere?? if so..that could be your problem..good luck

i have the same problem but it only occurs when i on my a/c.I am using an oil catch tank do you guys think that the pipe is not long enough to dump the gas.Is it better to put right infront or try to move it to the back? If my pipe is too long and it touches the ground does water goes in trough my oil catch tank when i pass by water area?thanks

The exhaust gas that your smelling is from the greddy downpipe. The greddy downpipe is a 2 piece, so when you connect the short piece to the turbo, and then proceed to put the other half of the downpipe on it hard as hell to fit them in place, and tightly screw them under the car that is. I know this because im ahving the exact same problem. When the car is cold, feel that part and should feel leak there. Mine so bad that when i rev the car a little bit, i can see exhaust gas coming up the engine bay.

I havent try to fixed it yet, I try by getting under the car and tighten it but that dont seem to work out well. well what i can think of is getting a new downpipe that one piece, should solve the problem. would free up some power too by going to a larger downpipe then greddy tiny 2 inch...
