Don't take it out when it's raining? Maybe? Idk, just a thought.

I hope to god you're not going a hood exit on a street car. Like a stock LS turbo type street car.

Indy Cars run in the rain with the exhaust outlets facing straight up. But they don't sit around at traffic lights and such.

I drove a hood exit on a weekend car for over a year, taking it out raining or not every weekend. Always carried around a small 90 degree pipe that i could quickly band clamp onto the hood exit if it started to drizzle. Would not have replaced the hood exit for anything, i loved it. Also a guy in my town daily drives a hood exit 500+ hp Ls Vtec. His exhaust goes down toward the ground about 5 in from the turbo before it goes up and back out the hood. Never had any issues. If im not mistaken he has a small 1/16 hole drilled in the bottom the the U turn so the rain could drain out. Didnt sound like crap or anything.

I daily drive my car with exhaust and wg out of the hood, just throw something over the pipe if it rains hard.

I also wonder about the water. Well maybe because the pipes are hot the water will dry up fast.

So back on this topic I'm buying a civic b18 swap and I'm planning on putting a turbo on it I was thinking a hood exit exhaust. It would be my daily driver I live in Michigan so yes snow rain and all of that so hood exit or I was gonna do one going out the side of the bumper

If you are really worried about rain and snow then you shouldn't do a hood exit. Just have it exit from the side or out the bottom.

I agree if your that worried about it you should have it facing sideways. If your still insistent on having out the hood, I would recommend a flap cover. The way 18wheelers have it on their exhaust pipes.
