i personally dont know why everyone is doing the hood propped thing.. i understand it provides a little more venting. but it looks like **** and ruins the flow of the car. just my 2 cents

What do you mean safe to drive in the rain?
Water won't hurt your engine, it may cause your speed sensor to stop working for a day or two, but I've seen people drive with no hood at all.
As long as you have good windshield wipers you'll be fine, your hood shouldn't affect your vision.

wipers have nothing to do with it was wondering if water will get behind onto the intake manifold and mess up some sensors and stuff

Then read the rest of my post. The only thing that might get wacky is your vehicle speed sensor. Your speedo will stop working, and your CEL will come on. If you have VTEC it will stop working as well. If you have an automatic you're in for a fun ride since the transmission uses the speed as a reference for which gear to choose and without that signal it hunts through gears. You should be fine with your poor fitment.
And to the guy who said it signifies all motor, you're wrong. It was started by people doing B20 swaps (at least I think it was the B20) and instead of mismatching IMs and heads they decided to raise their hoods to clear everything.

fitment is bull anyways with the prop cause once you prop your hood fitment isnt there so the 4dr hood looks good to me. its not propped mad high or nothing so i guess i shouldnt be worried. and yes the prop origionated from the f2b/h2b swap cause with that kit it tilts your motor back not allowing the hood to close propperly. not trying to be a ricer or nothing im just an everyday DIYer and like to try new things

really?
it is a pretty good idea to allow for clearance, and get the heat from out from under the hood.

Why will the VSS get wacky? From getting wet?
It's way down on the tranny and gets wet when ever it rains.

Well I dont have splash guards, and when it rained for 3 straight days my VSS went a bit off. I've heard of other people having a similar problem in heavy rain. I'm not saying it will be a massive problem, or theres even a good chance. But he wanted to know what might happen, and that might happen.
Also, if anyone is seriously concerned with heat issues, they should buy my hood. Perfect for extra clearance and for getting hot air out of the engine bay.
