Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
Hey dudes! A momentous day is upon us!
The Civic turned its first wheel of the season today, with beautiful brisk spring weather to boot! The roads here are finally free of salt and most winter sand and debris, and with the local Cars and Coffee event kicking the season off tomorrow it was the perfect time to dust off the cob webs.
After sitting outside all winter the car was absolutely filthy. The owners of our condo sand the driveways in the winter so it was covered in not only leaves and tree crap but also a healthy coating of sand dust. I gave it a quick blow off with compressed air, threw in the battery and was off to the shop to get some work done!
It was a good feeling to hop in the car after being immobile for 6 months and have it feel like it was just driven the week before. No issues other than some crusty rotors!
.
.
First on the agenda was to install the new replacement rotors for the front. I got a pair of rings from Racing Brake that are not only cheaper than oem Stoptech, but also come painted and ready to go! They are also 330mm vs the original 228mm.
Installed on the spare set of rotor hats, new vs. old
.
.
On the car
.
.
I also installed the new rear sway bar that came in the other day. I ran all of last season with the bar on full stiff and felt like I needed more mid corner rotation so I opted to go from the .095" wall thickness to .25".
Cleaned up all the components for re-assembly. Look at the beef!
.
.
Once I was done with the installs I gave the car a thorough power wash and bath. The headlight eyelids had seen better days and were really starting to look ratty so I pulled them off and gave the headlights a fresh polish as well!
.
.
Hoping to get some nice photos of the car tomorrow so stay tuned!

Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
Thanks guys!
Moving into our new house this weekend and as soon as were settled in ill be going to PA to pick up some exciting new goodies!
Front suspension will be re worked again for this season to address some unwanted banging from the assist springs unloading and then coming back into FCH, and will also be experimenting with some new parts to manipulate front geometry!

This is a really inspirational build, every aspect is simply drool worthy! Some smart thinking innovations and augmentations carried through with wonderful attention to detail, love it!
EasyE: would love to pick your brains about a couple of things regarding wheel fitment but do not wish to clutter your thread.
