type r sway bar on gen 3 integra
97 integra rs
i am a bit confused and need your guys knowledge with this.... my car has a ASR subframe (it came with it not that i like it) but it never had a sway bar. I bought a oem type r sway bar 22mm, oem endlinks, prothane d brackets with bushings, and end links bolts, also the beaks sway bar kit because i read a while back a type r sway bar on a stock subframe can rip it...
route 1.
now here is where am confuse, i got in the bottom of my car, i tried the bolts that hold the d brackets on the ASR subframe to see if everything line up but the bolts dont go all the way in, they stop where it hits the stock subframe...now here is my questions , was the ASR subframe installed wrong and maybe some holes where not drilled on the STOCK subframe or am i missing something? are my bolts to long the ones that came with the beaks kit and possibly i have to order the ones the asr subframe came with that maybe are smaller in length??
now i know you may be asking why i got the beaks kit if i had a ASR subframe, but i was orginally going to take off the ASR but decided on if it doesnt make this installed hard ill keep it, but if i need to order bolts from ASR or drill i rather just used it.
route 2
now if thats the case and i need to drill holes F&^&&^ that ill just remove the subframe and install it on the stock subframe with the beaks kit....will that work??? does my picture per your knowledge show i have everything needed to go route number 2????
thanks guys

here is a link below to a how to link on the site that someone did. Just go over the install on the car and compare to the article on how to and you might find your issue.

after reviewing that thread someone suggested i guess my answer is the asr subframe was installed without the stock subframe d brackets holes drilled the way asr suggested....am i right? I guess all i need to do is remove the ASR and drill the holes asr suggest for the sway bar and place everything back on.

yeah thats what it sounds like. one thing i always say take it apart and put back and double check mfg instructions or follow instructions on a how to post that has been used by other users to help them setup

Re: type r sway bar on gen 3 integra
is it not possible to remove the sway bar without loosening the header bolts or dismantling the exhaust?..I have had the same problem and after some research bought a JDM ARB to fit in place of my UKDM EP3 bar...once the bar is loose won't you be able to slide it out and twist it without doing anything to the exhaust or header?
